At Expressions Music Academy, we offer 30, 45, or 60-minute private violin, viola, and cello lessons for beginner, intermediate, and advanced students. Our expert music teachers at our Burke location use a combination of Suzuki and other methods for a balanced curriculum that teaches students strong intonation, technique, and note-reading. Every one of our Burke instructors goes through a rigorous hiring process—they are screened, auditioned, interviewed, selected, and trained to teach our students. Once hired, our instructors undergo a comprehensive training program and are continually evaluated to ensure consistent excellence. We believe that it takes a particular type of person with a special kind of personality to make a great teacher, so we work hard to seek out those who can teach with the utmost patience and care. All our instructors either hold or are pursuing music degrees in music, and all have had prior experience teaching music.
FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING AND MAKE-UP OPTIONS 7 DAYS A WEEK IN BURKE
We have many strings lesson times available during weekday afternoons and evenings and over the weekend. In addition, our Burke location is open all year round, even during the summer. And, if you need to cancel your lesson or change your lesson time, no problem! Our busy families love our unlimited make-up lesson and schedule change policy. If you’re too busy or unable to come in for your make-up lesson, you can even request a custom video make-up lesson from your instructor instead.
BIANNUAL RECITALS IN BURKE
Students want to feel motivated to practice, and parents want to see progress, so our optional biannual recitals accomplish these objectives. In addition, we offer a variety of recital options and themes at our very own concert hall in Burke twice each year, so students have the opportunity to perform in front of an audience. We pride ourselves on our well-organized, warm, and supportive hour-long performance events that are entirely free for all involved!
LEVEL UP MUSIC ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM
Through our optional Level Up Music Achievement Program, our students can enthusiastically climb from levels one through 10, earning certificates, wristbands, stickers, and trophies for making progress on their music lessons. Think of it as a martial arts black belt program but for music lessons! This structured, nationally recognized, and motivating free program has encouraged Expressions students of all ages to master their instrument since 2012.
MONTH-TO-MONTH LESSON STRUCTURE
At Expressions Music Academy in Burke, our strings students are not tied to long-term quarterly or annual commitments for their music lessons. Instead, students are only committed to classes for a month at a time.
